VISUAL ARTIST & FILMMAKER

Marta Lillioja is an Estonian visual artist and filmmaker based in Amsterdam, working across narrative short film, artist moving image and music video, and as a creative producer on artist films. She is drawn to stories that connect people and sit with complex, unresolved questions.

Her work has a visceral quality, shaped by magical realism in cinema and avant-garde music. Image and sound lead the way, building immersive experiences around characters’ inner and outer transformations. Solus Rex won Best Dance Film at the Amsterdam Independent Film Festival in 2024.
